Although a lot of people
seem keen on another trip to
Wales, not many can make the
first week of June, so I am
offering 3rd-7th May
instead. Details as before:
The plan
is to arrive Sunday evening
and dive Monday to Friday,
heading home Friday evening
or Saturday morning if you
wish. For the first day's
diving we will go out of
Fishguard and dive
wrecks/reef off Stumble
Head. The boat will be
moored overnight in that
area and we will be ferried
back to base in the minibus.
Next morning we will be
bussed to the boat to work
our way further round the
Pembroke Coast, reaching
Skomer by the end of the
week and taking in some of
the best wrecks (Lucy,
Whirlwind, Nimrod, Musgrave,
etc.) and other sites
(including the Small Isles)
en route, spending each
night back at base in
Fishguard and rejoining the
boat at her overnight
mooring. We can eat out at
our landing site if we so
wish to be bussed back to
Fishguard afterwards.
Celtic Diving offer a special
weekday deal of £50 per diver
per day (including diving and
B&B). We could take advantage of
that, the neaps and the bank
holiday Monday by booking the
week commencing 3rd May. The
added advantage is having a
weekend either side to get ready
before the trip and sort out
after.
Skipper Mark Deane can usually
find somewhere to dive no matter
what the weather, but if all
else fails, there is always the
Pembrokeshire coast to walk
(with the chance of seeing seals
and cetaceans) and puffins to
visit on Skomer Island . As the
bunk house sleeps 20 and the max
number of divers is 12,
non-divers are welcome (note
that if you bring a partner, you
may not get a room to yourselves
or even be in the same room).
For more info, see
www.celticdiving.co.uk
or talk to me.
If you are interested, please
let me know asap so that I can
book the weather in good time. A
£50 deposit will be required to
reserve a place on the trip.
Total cost for diving and
accommodation will be £250 per
diver.
